Minnesota blocked from investigating ICE shooting - Boing Boing
Maddening.
The lady who was murdered by the ICE agent had a 6 year old. That six year old lost his father last year. That six year old is now an orphan.
Think on that.
My personal conspiracy theory is that those “random” meme polls on social media (Ex: What’s the most ridiculous way you ever hurt yourself?) are being used to train AI or otherwise build very detailed profiles of us for ill use.
I do not answer or repost these, ever.
It’s 2026 and I still find LinkedIn inscrutable.
I went to update my profile to add my volunteer work (Board Positions, Circus Rigging, etc.) and from all I can understand, it is treated (and entered) as another job/position. I would argue that it is not and should be treated differently.
An Open Letter to Those Who Partake
Dear Weed Smokers, While I fully support your right to partake, especially in states like ours where it is legal, do know that we can smell you. When you are partaking in your car, we can smell you three lengths back (and, frankly, that is still DUI, so stop). When you partake in your car before going into the restaurant, we can smell you three tables over. When you walk into a store after a visit to the dispensary and decide to test a sample before walking into the store, we smell it in the vestibule after you’ve already checked out and left.
Every time I start a new one and put the old one on the shelf I take a moment to reflect on the story of my life I’m writing one day, one year, at a time.

For the record, Jesus Christ Superstar is my favorite musical of all time. Fell in love with the cast recording at age 7 and never stopped.
I didn’t know the current tour was in town. My wife and daughter surprised me for Christmas.
