OK, so there’s Kansas which we pronounce “can-sas”. But then there’s Arkansas which we pronounce “ar-can-saw” despite the fact it’s spelled like it should be pronounced “ar-can-sas”. Or, perhaps we should pronounce Kansas “can-saw”?
